Rob Horgan phoned on race eve to say that his Written Tycoon 3YO, Darebin, was having its first start and he\u2019d be flying to Strathalbyn to have a look.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cAny chance, Rob?\u201d \u2026 \u201cWell, he\u2019s been going OK in work but a bit ordinary out of the gates according to David (Jolly)\u201d, Rob downplayed.\n<\/p>\n

Paying $13 on the \u2018billy goat\u2019, an excited (and one assumes, somewhat wealthier) Rob went on to explain post race that \u201cwouldn\u2019t you believe it, he jumped with them\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

Not only did he match \u2018em stride for stride early, Darebin stepped up a gear in the run home, scoring by a length and a half with plenty left in the tank.\n<\/p>\n

Thanks Rob – my kids will just have to go hungry for another week!<\/span><\/div>\n
Messrs Jolly and Horgan are now considering their options, but their Written Tycoon speedster \u2013 from the Pentire mare See How You Are \u2013 is bound to be seen in the city some time soon.\n<\/p>\n

Named after the Darebin City Council and pronounced darra-bin<\/i>(\u201cI just liked the name\u201d), Darebin is out of a half sister to Adelaide Cup-G1 winner The A Train and was picked up by Rob as a 2YO from breeder, Eliza Park.\n<\/p>\n

Rob then left Darebin with Sue Ellis\u2019 Racing Division to be broken in before he was sent west to Jolly.\n<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ll excuse the pun, it was a \u2018jolly\u2019 good result \u2026 Rob is one of racing\u2019s nice guys and hopefully Darebin continues to kick goals for him.\n<\/p>\n

Hoofnote<\/i>: It was actually a two state double on Wednesday for Eliza Park\u2019s Racing Division with another homebred in Medusa\u2019s Miss (by Henny Hughes from the At Talaq mare, Cleopatra\u2019s Girl) scoring in a thriller at Warwick Farm.\n<\/p>\n

It was the filly\u2019s third win (second win in the trot at the Farm) from only six outings and she too was educated at Eliza Park before re-locating to Kevin Moses\u2019 stables in Sydney.\n<\/p>\n
