This has really been God\u2019s Own\u2019s week with two stakes winners within 30 minutes of each other (and an overall treble) on Saturday, followed up by another double \u2013 AND very nearly another stakes winner \u2013 on Anzac Day.<\/span><\/div>\n
Wade Slinkard\u2019s 2YO, Sacred Journey (ex. Thoressa by Hurricane Sky) got the day off a flying start with an all the way victory over 1100m at Bathurst, scoring by two panels at only his second outing.\n<\/p>\n

Sacred Journey is linebred to the champion mare, Dancing Show, through a daughter and a son and is closely related to Procol Harum who, like Sacred Journey\u2019s sire, is a winner of the Group One Caulfield Guineas.\n<\/p>\n

Down the road at Gosford, the aptly named, Disciple (ex. Myrrh by Nassipour) showed he is better suited to a mile by eking out a solid (albeit nail biting) win in the Singo\u2019s Wholesale Meats 3YO Maiden: only his fourth start for leading trainer Chris Waller.\n<\/p>\n

Yet, the one who almost made it three stakes winners in five days was the Matt Ellerton\/Simon Zahra trained, Pillar of Creation, who absolutely stormed home for a long neck second behind Underestimation in the Anzac Day Stakes-LR at Flemington.\n<\/p>\n

Holy moly, Batman \u2013 it was a sight to see and with only three runs under his belt (including a third at Flemington and third at Sale on debut on 1 April), Pillar of Creation (ex. Cosmic Dust by Hurricane Sky) is clearly an exciting commodity.\n<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

Bred along very similar lines to that of Sacred Journey (i.e. both are out of Hurricane Sky mares and making them linebred to Dancing Show), Pillar of Creation is out of a multiple winning sister to a multiple stakes winner in Slipstream and the Flemington stakes winner Blazing Aspect.\n<\/p>\n
