Close relations to 2010 Kentucky Derby winner and Eliza Park shuttler, Super Saver, have topped two of the world\u2019s best thoroughbred sales.<\/span><\/div>\n
First cab off the rank was the $1.2 million paid for the yearling half brother to Super Saver at Fasig-Tipton\u2019s Saratoga Select in early August (above<\/i>), catching the eye and considerable financial wallop of John Ferguson, buyer for Sheikh Mohammed\u2019s Darley operation.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously the mare (Supercharger) has produced a Kentucky Derby winner (Super Saver), but not only that, it\u2019s a fantastic family,\u201d Ferguson declared.\n<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Then just to top it off, a half sister to Super Saver\u2019s dam, Supercharger, has produced a $1.4 million yearling (by AP Indy) to lead the way at Keeneland\u2019s marathon September Yearling Sale this week.\n<\/p>\n

Regarded as the world\u2019s premier bloodstock auction, September has clearly gathered all the cracks to the fray, but it was Bob Feld \u2013 purchaser of multiple Breeders\u2019 Cup winners \u2013 who held sway on the day.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThere aren\u2019t going to be too many more AP Indys with that kind of pedigree! He\u2019s priceless as far as I\u2019m concerned\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

With no less than seven strains of the legendary La Troienne, Super Saver boasts a real stallion\u2019s pedigree: considered by many to be the \u201cfirst family of American thoroughbred breeding\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

After attracting an initial book of 140 plus mares at WinStar Farm in Kentucky \u2013 100 of which were either stakes winners or stakes producers \u2013 Super Saver had the distinction of covering two Group One winners in his first six hours \u2018on the job\u2019 at Eliza Park.\n<\/p>\n

A stakes record setting 2YO before winning the run for the roses last year, Super Saver is clearly the best value Kentucky Derby winner standing in Australia.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
