The “NeuLive” is an autopilot, smartphone-like brain recording/stimulation IoT device, ideal for neural electrophysiological studies with freely-moving animals. NeuLive provides the solution for both smart brain research and precise neuromodulation. The product design is recognized by the 2019 CompuTex d&i Specialty Award in Taipei, TAIWAN.

The key features of the NeuLive include: Based on a proprietary microchip tailored for neuro-interfacing, NeuLive features lightweight (4.1g), wireless data transmission (>2m), and simultaneous operation with multiple devices. Researchers no longer need to worry about bulky instruments with tangled wires, and animals can move freely during an experiment.

NeuLive is an auto-pilot system supporting multi-user access and remote control. Once the experiment protocol is set up, NeuLive runs automatically, and the experimental data can be accessed in real-time by multiple users simultaneously. Remote control of the experiment is also supported to minimize researcher impact on animal behaviors. NeuLive supports AI-adaptive control on stimulation, i.e., the stimulation can be triggered or adapted automatically upon the detection of specific pathological signals. This adaptive control, or closed-loop control, is crucial for the development of novel neuromodulation treatments for neural disorders.

The NeuLive is designed to accelerate the development of personalized bio-electronic medicine for treating various neural disorders, such as the Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, epilepsy, dystonia, pain control, stroke rehabilitation, or even depression and dementia.

The Hub is able to control up to 4 NeuLive headstages simultaneously for experimental setup, data collection, and data visualization, etc. The Hub is an auto-pilot system. Once an experiment protocol is set up, the NeuLive executes experiments automatically, and the experimental data are stored for real-time monitoring or further analysis.
