      DARREN IS A CLEVADUDE

New trainer, new colours, but it was the Clevadude of old at Warracknabeal on Monday, racing away to score by two over 1205m.
Now under the care of champion trainer, Darren Weir, the only question was how did anyone get as much as $6 on the Bel Esprit 3YO?
Bred at Eliza Park International, Clevadude won his first two at two and really looked the goods, particularly as he resumed at three with an impressive victory at Moonee Valley.
Unfortunately, Clevadude (seen winning at Moonee Valley) has had his ups and downs ever since, but the change of digs has obviously done him the world of good based on Monday’s performance.
The Bel Esprit Winners’ Club – always first off the mark – was quick to post the win but bemoaned the fact that Clevadude won his last start on 3 August – three days into the new racing season and, consequently, doesn’t chip away at Lonhro’s 4 (individual) winner lead on the Australian sires’ chart. Still, there’s a week to go!
