MAGNUS MARE IN A SCORCHER
If ever a race was well named …
Magnus got the new year off to a flying start with Magnifisio again in blistering form, taking out the Schweppes Summer Scorcher over 1000m at Ascot on Wednesday. It was her third win on the trot and a second stakes victory following a Crawford Stakes score just before Christmas.
This mare is really shaping up as one of the West’s best sprinters and certainly has the right trainer in Jim Taylor, who put the polish on Hay List before he headed east.
Sitting just behind the leaders, Magnifisio raced clear in the straight to score by three and now has eight wins and over $400k in prizemoney.
It certainly augurs well for the Magnus’ selling at the Perth Yearling Sale in February!
