      ASTRONOMER FINDS JUPITER

Chalk up another winner for Astronomer Royal with a solid score over 900m at Cessnock by the Paul Perry-trained, Jupiter.
Off the scene for nearly six months after showing little on debut, the break has obviously done the flashy grey filly the world of good and she looked every inch the winner.
Bred in New Zealand by Rich Hill Thoroughbreds, Jupiter is out of the Fasliyev mare, Bluegrass, who is – in turn – a daughter of the prolific Zasu Rhythm, who seven winners include Group winner and Group One runnerup, Any Rhythm, plus the stakes placed Silverbeat, dam of stakes winners Upbeat and 2014 Magnus stakes winner Alpha Beat. A full sister to Alpha Beat was sold at this year’s Melbourne Premier for $240,000.
Hoofnote: It’s only a little thing, but according to Bloodhound, there are now seven horses globally with the name Jupiter, since the Brazilian version foaled in 2004. Subsequently, we’ve had Jupiters in USA, Spain, Germany, France, New Zealand and Japan. Two of them, a colt bred in France in 2010, and our New Zealand filly in 2011, are both by Astronomer Royal. And you’d think with all those racing conferences …?
