      SHARKBITE SHOWS SASS

What a big week it’s been for Sharkbite. John McArdle’s Inafrenzy saluted at Cranbourne on the Friday night and then Tony McEvoy’s Sasenkile led throughout to score by nearly three lengths at Strathalbyn last Wednesday.

Out of the Snippets’ mare, Snippet’s Beauty, Sasenkile is a very promising type and appeared suited to the 1600m journey (Sharkbite was a stakes winner in Melbourne over 1700m). And like his sire, Sasenkile is clearly improving with age, debuting in June (as a 2YO) with an unlucky second at Morphettville, before resuming with a second at Balaklava earlier this month, racing greenly throughout before finishing a half length off the winner.

Certainly one to be kept in mind wherever McEvoy (below) takes him next.

Sasenkile is the fourth first crop winner for Sharkbite, whose oldest are only 3YOs. Due to limited numbers from his initial book (rectified with over 300 covers in the next three years at Eliza Park International), Sharkbite has had just the 16 runners with 14 of them at least earning a cheque.
