      QUEENSLAND FIRES UP!

It was a big 24 hours for our Queensland farm. The best horse to not have won a Group One finally did on Friday night when Buffering fought off all challengers to capture the Manikato Stakes at the Valley. Gee, it was a great win. Denied so many times in the past, Buffering wasn’t going to let ‘em catch him this time around. Go you good thing. Excitingly, Buffering’s mum, Action Annie, is due to foal a three quarter brother or sister in blood to Buffering in the next few days after being covered by Eliza Park’s International’s Love Conquers All last spring.

Speaking of Love Conquers All, one of his harem this spring is the Hatta’s Mill mare, Millennial, who is the dam of Group One winner, La Montagna, by LCA stablemate, Monashee Mountain.

With well over 400 winners in both hemispheres, Monashee Mountain had yet another moment in the sun yesterday when his 2YO debutant, Setfire to Therain took out the QTIS Fillies Handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm.

Eliza Park International sold the filly to trainer Darren Bell for just $16,000 at the Magic Millions in March and, based on the ease of yesterday’s score, it appears to be a very, very good investment!
