      MAGNUS REIGNS

Magnus is never far from the news pages and the results from the last week or so are a good reason why.

Just some of his winners of late include Tracey Bartley’s unbeaten, Magna Amica (who is now likely to come to Melbourne for the last on the Cup program), Gai Waterhouse’s Magnetron (who broke the class record for 2100m – yep, that’s right, 2100m – at Gosford), Miss Wynette, Magnusificent and yesterday’s winner, Big Island.

However, perhaps the most encouraging performance was that of Rick Hore-Lacy’s flyer, Magnus Reign, who put in a blinder at the Valley on Friday night. Caught wide throughout after jumping from barrier 10 at the 955m, the 4YO half to Group One winner Red Dazzler showed plenty of dazzle to grab a win right on the wire.

Group placed on debut as a 2YO, Magnus Reign has won five and been multiple city placed in the last 12 months and Hore-Lacy claims the horse is much stronger this time in.

As for Magnus – winners from 955m to 2100m in the space of a week!
