      THE RIGHT VIBE

The spring carnival proved to be hugely successful for Eliza Park International’s sales divisions in Queensland and Victoria.

Queensland was represented by two Group One winners in the space of a week at Flemington – Buffering and Zoustar – while Victoria’s dedicated sales facility, Smithfield, grabbed another stakes winner when exciting sprinter, Richie’s Vibe, won on Cup Day.

      Breednet’s Mark Smith reports:

Rangal Park Stud’s Danerich sired his fourth stakes-winner when Richie’s Vibe outgunned Sea Lord in the Listed MSS Security Sprint (1200m) at Flemington.

It was the fourth win in eight starts for the 4yo gelding taking his earnings to $175,400. Richie’s Vibe (pictured as a yearling) began life with John Hyam for whom he won three races before racing twice for Paul Beshara. When that trainer was disqualified for 6 months for alleged raceday treatment of Happy Trails, Richie’s Vibe had one start for Byron Cozamanis before transferring to Tony Vasil.

A $10,000 purchase from the Eliza Park International consignment at the 2011 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling sale, Richie’s Vibe is the second foal of the Melbourne winning Hennessy mare Early Wakening a granddaughter of the Grade 1 Flower Bowl Handicap winner Dawn’s Curtsey (Far North).

Early Awakening has a 2yo colt by Danerich and a yearling colt by Astronomer Royal (USA). She was not served last year.

Danerich, a son of Danehill out of the Group 3 winner and Golden Slipper placed Millrich (Rubiton) Danerich has earned a fee increase this season to $8,800 this season after covering last year at $5,500.
