BEL’S BELL RINGS
Despite heading to the Valley with three wins under his belt, Tilla Bell Rings had had absolutely no luck in four previous trips to the big smoke.
For instance, third at Morphettville (slow to jump, rider questioned), third at Sandown (“had not hung in would have clearly won”), sixth at Sandown (pulled up sore, spelled), 10th at Moonee Valley (“went to the line not fully tested”). You get the message.
Well, he turned it all around on Friday night with a well deserved score over 1600m at Moonee Valley with trainer Darren Weir and connections breathing a huge sigh of relief.
