      LAZY WIN FOR BEL YOUNGSTER

      Lazy Democracy

Winds up to 130kph swept through Hobart on Sunday, playing havoc with the Hobart Cup meet.

They’ll probably find a few fascinators in the Antarctic Circle but before the maelstrom hit Elwick, Bel Esprit 3YO, Lazy Democracy (above), managed to hit the line in impressive fashion to take out the Betfair Maiden Plate over 1100m.

Lazy Democracy (out of the Telesto mare, Zillion Roses, and bred and raced by Vu Van Tu) was having only his third outing and has been off the scene since April and trainer Barry Campbell must have been impressed with the performance.

Expect to see more of this bloke in the winners’ circle.

      Storm hits Porthleven

This is how folks at Hobart must have felt on Sunday! This bloke almost gets blown away on the Cornwall coast in what was England’s wettest January since 1766.
