      FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH

If you’ve ever wondered about the importance of barrier draws, just listen to the groans from trainers when their horse pulls a bad marble.

More Than Ready 2YO, Sun Force – owned by Eliza Park International – jumped from the widest barrier in the Masterfoods 2YO Maiden Plate over 1200m at Gosford on Sunday and immediately got caught three deep without cover – not ideal for a youngster having only his second outing. Still, he fought on well over the final stages and only missed by a head.

The Waterhouse stable has a huge opinion of the colt (pictured as a yearling) who is out of the 3-time G1 winning Redoute’s Choice mare, Samantha Miss and was snapped up for $400,000 at Easter last year.
