      23 TO GO?

Peter Moody knows all about unbeaten Bel Esprit fillies and while Shades of Bella isn’t likely to win 25 in a row, two from two is a good start.

Racing in the Orbit Fitness Handicap over 1200m at Mornington on Wednesday, Shades of Bella led throughout to score a gutsy win and it’s a nice follow up to her debut at Yarra Valley on Australia Day.

Retained by her breeders, Shades of Bella (pictured) is out of the Polish Laughter mare, Shades of Laughter.

Meanwhile, Bel Sprinter is poised for a return to racing following a trial win at Cranbourne on Tuesday – it was in March last year that the Jason Warren trained flyer enjoyed a career highlight by taking out the Galaxy at Rosehill and became Bel Esprit’s third Group One winner.
