ELIZA PARK INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES 2014 FEES

      … Coming to you ‘Live’

Eliza Park International has released its stallion roster for 2014 – which includes exciting newcomers in Fiorente and Fighting Sun – and is also declaring a welcome bonus to all broodmare owners … payment upon a Live Foal!

Melbourne Cup winner, Fiorente, joins a lineup of 14 stallions in Victoria and Queensland and will stand his initial season at a fee of $17,600 inc. GST.

The recent acquisition of unbeaten Northern Meteor 2YO, Fighting Sun, has brought a flood of enquiries over the past few weeks and he too will be popular at his opening fee of $13,750 inc. GST.

But the premier lineup of stallions in the state – and one of the strongest in the nation – has been seriously enhanced by Eliza Park International’s decision to introduce payment of service fees only after the mare has produced a live foal.

“We believe it’s a tremendous incentive to broodmare owners,” Eliza Park International’s Sales & Nominations Manager, Mark Lindsay, points out. “This now gives clients of the farm much more ‘breathing space’ and full credit to our new owners for taking this step.

“Importantly though, the best terms in the world are nothing if you don’t have the roster to match and in that regard, we’ve got a terrific lineup.

“Everyone is familiar with the deeds of Fiorente over the last 12 months – Melbourne Cup, Australian Cup and the Dato Tan Chin Nam. It’s hard to move away from what he did in the Cups but the Dato win over 1600m in a weight for age was something else. He’s got a lot to offer broodmare owners and his sire, Monsun, is one of the world’s most successful sires with 17% stakes winners to runners.

“As for Fighting Sun, whom we announced a couple of weeks back, the phone has been ringing off the hook. After winning so impressively on debut and then blitzing them in the Listed Canonbury Stakes in Sydney, a lot of good judges thought he would have won the Golden Slipper and we somewhat reluctantly retired him to stud. It’s a huge advantage that he’s by Northern Meteor but it’s the sheer speed factor that has everyone excited.

“Adding to the Live Foal payment and the new boys, the existing roster is really doing the job: with only a handful of runners, Wanted has a very exciting filly in Kalabek aiming for Group One glory in Brisbane, perennial champ, Bel Esprit, has again over 120 individual winners for the season, while Magnus and Statue of Liberty are going great guns and are among the top 3YO sires in the country.

“Not to mention a number of up and coming stallions that are bound to make their own way in the next couple of seasons.

“I believe that a highly functioning roster and competitive fees are a great advantage, but payment on live foal will also help keep a lot of people in the industry.

      “Exciting times.”
